This European variety is simply called Swift in Britain. Very cute, similar to our North American variety when seen in flight.

So we wandered around the Canterbury city center, and saw my first swifts of the year.

While driving through Northern France on a rainy day, we spotted some of these birds.

Saw several of these birds swooping energetically over the brush along the edges of the path.

There were LOTS of these birds flitting overhead.
