Buteo buteo
July 4, 1996: Scottish Lowlands, Fife, Scotland
First seen while driving through the lowlands in Scotland. This most common hawk in Britain is very similar to our Red-tailed, and certainly fills a similar niche. I enjoyed seeing these familiar, yet new, birds throughout Britain.
July 5, 1996: Newtonmore, Highland, Scotland
July 10, 1996: Gigrin Farm, Powys, Wales
November 4, 2002: Lake District National Park, Cumbria, England
On the way to Windermere, saw a couple of buzzards – one being harassed by a crow, the other sitting quietly just across the highway.
Let me know what you think!
