A new bird for the last day of our vacation! I spotted this gorgeous bird flitting about in the bushes near one of the lakes.

A new bird for the garden today! I spotted these cuties in the trees in the yard on the other side of our alley. The day was gray and rainy, so I couldn’t really see the colors to their best effect, but I was able to see enough for the ID. Very cute!

The Long-tailed Tits returned – this time to the front garden, and I had a WONDERFUL sighting. One of them landed in one of the bushes along the side of our house. It was almost too close to be seen in the binoculars (almost, but not quite). BEAUTIFUL! I could see the rosy pink color on the sides, the tiny black little bill – what a gorgeous bird, and the best look at one I’ve ever had. Maybe the best look ever, since it would have to land on my arm for me to get a better look!

Midday; sunny/. I never got a really close look at these birds – they were gone before I could get close enough. But I’m fairly certain they were Long-tailed Tits.

I was happy to see a small flock of these little beauties – Kevin’s first, I think.
