May 12, 2011: Kelbaker Road, San Bernardino County, CA
I spotted this gecko in the middle of the road during a night drive on Kelbaker Road. An usually-colored specimen: spotted with no banding. Found at 0.9 mi from Baker park sign.
May 13, 2011: Kelbaker Road, San Bernardino County, CA
Found at 1.2 miles from the entrance sign during a Kelbaker Road night drive. This one exhibited “classic” banded coloration.
May 14, 2011: Kelbaker Road, San Bernardino County, CA
Found 3 individuals during Kelbaker night drive. All had varying amounts of banding – a good example that the coloration of this species can be quite variable.
